Double-layer shells use two-durometer overmolding: soft inside against skin, firmer outside for support, with a cavity between them that keeps clothing off. Vent holes are cored with fine pins and must be smooth-walled, otherwise they trap residue during cleaning. Nipple covers use low-durometer silicone with a removable adhesive, and the tapered edge is created by the parting line so nothing shows under tight clothing.
